The Power of Our Partners’ Impact
At the heart of the St. Joseph Community Partnership Fund’s (Fund) mission is a deeply rooted belief in the power of community to transform distressed local conditions. This approach fosters grassroots engagement, allowing communities to identify, advocate for, and implement their agenda for change. Community power building is a crucial, long-term investment. At the Fund, we are dedicated to a collaborative, transformative journey, fostering sustained social, economic, and political action within communities. Our partners’ impact and work are rooted in love, building communities that are more healed and more able to flourish, hope, love, and grow.
In their own words, here are a few of their stories, where they shared their impact in creating lively, hopeful, healthy, and just communities.
Advocated for funding to install security cameras that will be monitored by the Fullerton Police Department at parks and key public spaces.

Engaged in local redistricting to ensure adequate representation for the neighborhood. Joint advocacy for city council to revoke previously approved cannabis policy to open dispensaries in their neighborhoods.

Advocated for parent representation on school district committees where funding decisions are made.

Started a community garden at the local senior citizens club to create a space for the community to come together and grow fresh fruits and vegetables.

Changed policy for prioritizing the removal of homeless camps that present hygiene and safety dangers to the community.

Me siento muy agradecida con CBI por haberme dado la oportunidad de participar con la iniciativa en la ciudad de Adelanto. Como organizadora comunitaria pude ayudar a un gran numero de residentes decidir abogar por su comunidad. Hoy en día el resultado de nuestro trabajo es una presentación de nuestro grupo ante el gobierno de la ciudad y ver crecer a cada residente como lideres empoderados para continuar la lucha del agua saludable para Adelanto. Hemos visto hombres y mujeres frente a el consejo municipal de Adelanto teniendo reuniones con Asambleísta Juan Carrillo y Congresista Joe Obernolte.
I am grateful to CBI for the opportunity to participate in the initiative in the City of Adelanto. As a community organizer, I was able to help many residents decide to advocate for their community. Today, the result of our work is our group’s presentation to the city government and seeing residents grow as empowered leaders to continue the fight for safe water for Adelanto. We have seen men and women in front of the Adelanto council and having meetings with Assemblyman Juan Carrillo and Congressman Joe Obernolte.
