SJCPF works to build the capacity of community-based organizations partnering with our system hospitals. Through core operating grants, technical assistance, investment loans, and strategic partnerships, SJCPF invests in the nonprofits that serve the health needs of their communities.

SJCPF’s Sustainability Initiative is a 5-month program that engages regional nonprofits who are critical to the safety net of services, and who are struggling with organizational sustainability and capacity. Executives and board members come together in monthly learning sessions to study key principles of sustainability and organizational development with experts. The program also connects them to one-on-one coaching to help leaders grapple with their own sustainability challenges and find ways to evolve, leverage, and grow programs in impact and relevance.
